Oh, whoah is me, what on earth will become of our Dockers without their captain Paul Robinson for the next 6 weeks?
A broken bone in the foot is what the doc’s xray showed after coming off of a tough defeat to the Scunny Irons. Robbo came off the pitch after the first half, and was substituted by Zak Whitbread to finish up a second half that was less than stellar. Whitbread is a serviceable defender, but I’m not thinking that he is going to bring the same commanding presence that Robinson does to the club.
One bright spot to look for in next Monday’s match v. Leeds, will be the debut of 23 year old defender Richard Duffy, whom the Lions recently acquired on loan from Portsmouth. Duffy is being reunited with manager Kenny Jacketts after playing for Jacko at Swansea. Duffy and Whitbread will need to gel quickly if they are to fill the shoes of our beloved skipper.
