I know there’s been some decline in Neil “Bomber” Harris’ form over the past two years, but nothing makes a Lions supporter happier than watching their club’s all-time leading scorer continue to run out of the dressing room and on to the pitch at the Den. He is our hero in blue.
Now 31-years old, Harris has continued to pull on the blue strip every week, even though playing time has declined and manager Kenny Jackett has indicated Harris is not part of the long term plans. On January 13, 2009 he broke the scoring record, in a 3-2 FA Cup win away to Crewe Alexandra surpassing Teddy Sheringham as Millwall’s all time leader in goals scored.
Bomber…you have provided the Millwall fans with so many highlights over the years. You are a cancer survivor. You have given your all, and have always been a loyal servant to our club. Our hope is that you continue to wear the blue and white, and you regain your form of yesterdays gone by.
Another season end is drawing near. If we go into the summer with The Bomber’s status in doubt, I would just like to say “Thank You”. Neil Harris, you truly are our hero.
